The SLIM-Collaborate Project Lifecycle

SLIM-Collaborate works with SLIM-Suite desktop tools to seamlessly manage projects throughout the project lifecycle.  During the estimation stage, rough order of magnitude estimates can be refined using more sophisticated solution methods once detailed information about requirements and sizing is available. Typically, several alternative scenarios are created and analyzed using the Estimation and Contingency project dashboards. If more advanced estimation expertise is required, projects can be checked out to SLIM-Estimate for Round Trip data exchange, allowing estimators to leverage additional solution wizards and sizing techniques.  Site administrators can enable or install SLIM on the Server to break out project effort, staff, or cost by skill, producing detailed resource and schedule estimates for projects in the Estimation stage.

Once the project has completed, approved estimates are advanced from the Estimation to the Closeout stage to capture and benchmark actual time, effort, and delivered size data.  Closeout and Portfolio Dashboards provide a way to assess project performance against relevant internal or industry reference trends and other completed projects.

Completed Closeout projects can also be exported to SLIM-Suite desktop tools to support advanced analysis and the creation of custom benchmark trends.  In SLIM-Metrics, your completed project data can be used to create internal benchmark trends that can be uploaded to SLIM-Collaborate and used to tune future estimates to your organization’s lifecycle methods and proven ability to deliver software.
