Monetary units are currencies used for labor rates and cost calculations. Examples include U.S. Dollars, Euros, Japanese Yen, etc. This field is located on the Project Settings tabs of Estimation and Closeout project edit dialogs.
A check in the Global column of a monetary unit in the lookup table denotes that that unit has been chosen on the Enterprise Settings page as the monetary unit for the entire database. Cost figures for projects that use different monetary units will be normalized to the global monetary unit anywhere cost data for multiple projects is displayed. Three new columns – Global, Last Changed, and Conversion Factor – have been added to the Monetary Units lookup table to support projects with different monetary units. Any unit that is currently the global monetary unit cannot be deleted or unincluded.
