The Industry and Sector fields identify the specific industry or sector for which the project is being developed. For example, a data processing application designed for use in the Insurance industry would belong to the Business application domain, the Financial industry, and the Insurance sector. Like the application type field, it is useful in sorting projects into similar groups. Like Domain and App type, the Industry/Sector field is organized as a hierarchical list, with industries forming the top-level categories with the Sector selection values providing additional detail.
Because the QSM default selection values (preceded by a hashmark symbol) for this field are used to collect and stratify industry data in the QSM database, they cannot be renamed, made inactive (unavailable for selection), or deleted from the Lookup table. Custom selection items cannot be added to either table.
