Importing the Project

Once you have selected a project access option, use the Select… button to browse to, select, and upload one or more SLIM-Estimate (.sew) workbooks. A blinking gold dot will appear beside each workbook name along with an import status bar. Once the file is ready for upload, the dots will turn green. If you inadvertently included invalid SLIM file types (.smp, smw, .scw, .sea), the invalid source workbooks will be deleted and a error message will inform you that only the .sew (SLIM-Estimate Workbook) files listed on the import dialog will be imported. Note that the Import SLIM-Estimate Projects button will be disabled until at least one valid source workbook has been selected and uploaded.

When the projects are imported, Collaborate will automatically upload copies of each associated SLIM-Estimate workbook to the SLIM-Collaborate database and link then to the imported projects.  These workbook copies are called associated workbooks. If a project is either exported or checked out from the Estimation service, data in its associated workbook will be combined with the SLIM-Collaborate Current Solution to create a new SLIM-Estimate workbook.

When you click the Import SLIM-Estimate Projects button, the projects will be imported into Collaborate at the Estimation stage.  They will be visible in the Project List to all Collaborate users with access to the project or Manage Site permissions (generally, the Site Admin).
